Q: USB-C cables and adapters
Since the new MacBook 12" only has one USB-C port, I assume that I could use adapters and cables to connect it to USB2, USB Flash Drive, and Ethernet.
I needed to connect to my music synthesizer, which used to connect to a PC laptop with a midi to USB interface cable. In order to connect the synthesizer, I bought a USB-C male to USB2 male cable, but I realized that I needed a female USB2 instead. I then got a female to female USB2 adapter. Disappointingly, it's not working. Then, I tried only the USB-C/USB2 cable with an adapter to connect with a USB2 flash drive. It's not working either.
Isn't these right?
MacBook-----USB-C male/USB2 male end cable-----female/female adapter-----USB2 male/midi interface cable----- synthesizer
MacBook-----USB-C male/USB2 male end cable-----female/female adapter-----USB2 Flash drive
I did plug the midi cable back to the PC to see if it would still work with the synthesizer. It did work like before.
