Q: Facebook notifications are from someone other than me.

I installed Mountain Lion on My Macbook Pro. Notifications worked fine.  About a week ago, a friend asked to login to her facebook on my computer.  When she was done, she logged out and I logged back in to my account on FB. Since that time all of my notifications for Facebook are hers!  Mine don't show up at all, just hers, even though it clearly shows me logged in to my account..

I've logged out, quit Safari, rebooted my computer, and it keeps coming back to her notifications.

Any ideas?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), iPhone 4S

Go to you Systems Preferences... 'Mail, Contacts and Calendars' and delete your account for FaceBook... Log back in with your FaceBook account.

Thanks David!  I didn't even know that preference was in there.  And sure enough, it showed the other persons name.  All is well now...  Thanks again!

What I think happened has to do with the fact that my computer was less than a week old. I migrated my account from an older MacBook Pro (2008) and I had never signed in to facebook. It just opened to my page directly because of the migration.

When she used it, she didn't have access to my system prefs as I was pretty much watching her, but I think she was the first one to actually log in to facebook on my computer.  It then created the account in my prefs.

When I did the fix you mentioned above, I went to my facebook page afterwards and it showed up fine.  But I logged out anyway.  When I logged back in it showed me the prompt to create the account under the system prefs which I did, and then all was fine.

I figure she may have had the same screen pop up when she logged in earlier, but since I wasn't paying close attention, she just clicked okay and went about her business. Since she was the first to log in, she had the account, and I had all her notifications!  :-)

    Thanks again!

I have another Facebook account that I use for testing... I'll log into that one and see if it changes notifications.... Football on now... After the game.

If you're running Mountain Lion, It's under system preferences.  Its in the row called "'Internet and Wireless".  Second one in with the big blue @ symbol.  click on that one.

Thanks for this years later.  This was incredibly annoying to have my notifications show up on my friends computer.  Somehow my Facebook ended up in her Mac Mini.  She was seeing all of my notifications.  Not cool!!!
