Q: How do I repeat only one song in the new Apple Music app?

Hi, I have recently updated my iPhone 6 to the iOS 8.4 and it now comes with a brand-new look Apple Music app. I love it but I don't know how to play my one favourite song on repeat because I couldn't find any repeat buttons like the ones in the previous versions of the Apple Music app.

TThat option does not seem to be available any more. As a work-around you can press the Rewind button When the song is near the end.

It is hidden, but it still exists.  When playing a song, tap and hold the song name towards the bottom of the screen.  Pull up and it reveal the menu with the option to repeat all and repeat one (as well as shuffle ).

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!  I've been searching through forums looking for an answer, and almost everyone's conclusion is that it doesn't exist. But I knew that couldnt be true. I had "repeat song" turned on before I did the updates, and it saved my settings with the new user interface, so "repeat song" was already turned on. It's been driving me crazy for days because, not only am I trying to get accustomed to the new UI, but the same @$?&!#%! song keeps playing over and over. Lol. Anyway, thank you for solving the mystery for me. And for anyone else still confused…just touch the title of the song at the bottom of the screen, and drag it up.

There also appears to be a bug that if you play a song from your history list, the button for song repeat is missing / greyed out. Took me awhile to figure out why I couldn't repeat an individual song!

I am so frustrated with new "Apple update" !   Looking to repeat song.  Tried what you said.  Didn't work for me.  Old way was simple......Why are they always changing and complicating things!!!!   Anybody know how to repeat a song?

Thanks--I'm really curious how you found this hidden procedure?  And if Apple reads this, I agree with others, --why was something like this made so complicated?!!

I don't know why they do what they do but.... I did find the answer by accident!  In the play screen, at the bottom of the page are icons.  Going from left to right,  third icon over,  2 "arrows" on top of each other. Tap it and it goes gray (haven't figured out what that does) but tap it again, stays grey with a small icon above it.  Voila...you are there!  Hope this helps someone and saves them a few hours of their life!

I still can't get it to work.  Even after reading this and trying it.  if I am playing one song and have cleared out "up next' WHICH I **HATE** it will not repeat the one song.  It either stops and goes back to the list of my music or it plays the next song in order but I can no longer get my iPad to simply repeat a song over and over in a loop. This update is CRAP...all the things that i used to do easily are now hidden, difficult or don't work.  Anyone have a suggestion for a replacement to play music?

Like many I have been rather frustrated trying to find the repeat option with the new apple music app.  I finally find it today.  You have to tap the third icon to the right TWICE then you get this very very small 1 then you good to go!!!!  Remember you have to tap twice ( this worked for me on the I6plus

Thanks to all the replies. For anyone having issues ... the "button" is wonky and sometimes doesn't work. I had pressed it twice ( I never would have known this without the help here) and the song ended and the screen was blank. I tried again .. this time it worked. After pressing the 2nd time there is a tiny "1" to the right of the arrow on top. Not sure what that means. The whole thing is just not at all intuitive. The worst UI Apple has ever had!!!! I get nervous every time I try to interact with this  app. Not sure I will bother with the paid version as I don't need this aggravation!! The Apple Store needs some workshops on how to use Apple Music.

Woe to those who accidentally turn this on via a phone fumble. Thank you so much for revealing this mystery because I was going insane listening to the same song over and over again and tapping shuffle to move to another eventually. Just... gah!

None of these answers are working for me. When I pull up, nothing happens. I also can't find the icon that people are describing to tap several times. Grrr, so frustrating when simple functions are hidden.

The repeat option becomes available once you expand the mini player. The mini player is found at the bottom of the screen above the "My Music" "Playlist" "Radio" "Connect" buttons. Just tap on the name of  the song playing and the mini player will expand. Once the mini player is expanded, you will see the shuffle and repeat options at the bottom of the screen. Hope this helps
