So I understand you are having an issue with Home Sharing since updating your version of iTunes on your Windows computer, is that right? I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article - Get help with Home Sharing

It is the last version of iTunes I have that has been able to keep Home Sharing functionality working on my Windows 8.1 desktop. Like you, the 'Help' they suggest is bull. My iDevices and old MacBook Pro all work perfectly fine communicating with one another and my Apple TV, so my problem is not hardware or other software related problems. It is absolutely with the more recent versions of iTunes on Windows. It's been like this for months, and I see no reason to update it until Home Sharing works properly again on Windows.
