Jul 20, 2015 2:12 PM in response to Kstud7by deggie,So the higher end watches that use adhesives, the AirBus and the Dreamliner are bad decisions, current helicopters are bad decisions, smartphones are bad decisions, is this what you are saying? If apple used screws and they corroded from sweat would that also be a bad decision?
Adhesives have been increasing in use in the past 20 years due to weight, strength, cost, resistance to heat, corrosion, etc. It isn't a case of being a "fanboy" it is just paying attention to what lots of manufacturers are doing and catching up with the times. If you want to stay with things assembled with screws then buy something that uses that technique. But screws, bolts, rivets, etc. can also break. And have done so.

It is a bad decision and don't let these fanboys change your opinion, it's okay to like a product but this is ridiculous, in there eyes apple can do no wrong, Apple could sell them dirt with an apple logo on it and they will say it's quality dirt and if it gets clean its under warranty, Apple will make it dirty again, this is clearly the wrong forum to say anything is wrong with an apple product.
Lose the argument, start with the ad hominem attacks. Predictable.

Jul 23, 2015 9:01 AM in response to nevsfby CraigMacBoston,Something similar just happened to my Apple Watch this morning. I took it off the charger cable and the watch face flopped out (held by a ribbon cable). I can push it back on, but it doesn't stay that way. I put a rubber band on to hold it in place until I'm back from traveling. There was no impact or water issue, and everything works still. I'll book a time at the Apple store tomorrow or Saturday and let you know what happens.

Jul 24, 2015 2:12 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby zorkor,What about those who don't live close to an Apple service center and live in a country where there is no Apple support? How are we going to "use it" then? Why not make a reliable product in first place and save us a headache? A backplate which comes off is a serious quality issue. Not everyone is rich and not everyone can just go to an Apple service center and "use it" as you put it.

Jul 24, 2015 2:19 AM in response to Kstud7by zorkor,Well said man. These fanboys are attacking those customers who are complaining about buying a defective product which they paid with their hard earned cash. If the fan boys feel so insecure about their fav company then they should buy a replacement for everyone who has bought a defective product if they care so much about the company's reputation.
For the rest of us who are not fan boys, we need to push more for better product design which already costs so much which fails within couple of months.

Jul 24, 2015 8:10 AM in response to zorkorby deggie,If you have to resort to name calling you have already lost your argument.
Nobody here is saying that some Apple products have failed. No one is saying that things can happen during manufacturing that will cause a product to fail. That is what warranties are for. Apple has had previous manufacturing issues with products and have done recalls and warranty extensions. All we have said is using adhesives in 21st century is not in and of itself a design flaw.
It ***** to be statistic but products do fail and that doesn't necessarily mean their is a design flaw. If you think you can do better find a company that has a 0% failure rate and purchase from them. Please list here what company that would be.

Jul 24, 2015 8:14 AM in response to zorkorby deggie,That is the risk you take when you purchase any product that is not available for sale in your country. If you bought a Bang & Olufsen TV and brought it to your country and the power transformer failed you would be facing the same issue. You can read lots of posts here about buying iPhones in the US and taking them to other countries with no support.
Apple does not have a 0% failure rate on any product they make. This is not due to design flaws this is due to manufacturing flaws. You will have to either return to where you purchased the phone to get warranty support or send the watch to a friend or relative who lives in one of those countries and have them take it in.

Jul 24, 2015 7:19 PM in response to Csound1by Kstud7,"The Space Shuttle has a heat shield held on with glue. Clearly this is not your mama's glue."
Yeah your right, I don't remember hearing about your mama's glue coming lose on the space shuttle and the space shuttle heat shield coming off maybe you should sell some to apple.
This post is asking others if they had a problem with the back coming off of the apple watch, If you don't own the watch (Csound1) there should be no comment and the original post asked if anyone else had this problem, if you did not have this problem no comment is necessary.
There was never an argument, just a reply, so what did I lose?

Which is while Apple offers service by mail.
