Q: MacMail 6.6 OSX Mountain Lion — Incoming Mail issues

Suddenly, 3 days ago, incoming mail ceased. Outgoing mail continued. Upon checking my ISP's Web Mail account, incoming mail is there. Contacted the ISP Technical Support. After an hour session troubleshooting my Account Settings with them and sending 'test e-mails' to myself, all efforts to no avail.

My ISP only has MacMail Version 8.4 OSX Yosemite. They have determined it is because I am on an older operating system and MacMail version, they could not provide any further assistance.

I am not able to upgrade to OSX Yosemite because Apple no longer supports iWeb. I am a medium-level web designer and web master of 4 websites. Yes, I have looked thoroughly into the other Mac supported web design programs and they were not suitable for my well-designed websites. Yes, I have been informed about partitioning my Mac, but as an elderly person, I find this burdensome when so proficient on the way I have everything established on my iMac and MacBook.

HELP!

Thank you!

You are welcome. Mail menu bar/Windows. On the dropdown, select Connection Doctor.

Your patience is appreciated. When I followed the thread, I came to realize that I have used 'Connection Doctor', but a senior brain lapse did not help me 'get it' when you provided the information. Whenever I do not utilize a feature, it departs from my brain into 'who knows where', until somebody brings it forth. Got it all sorted out at my end reinstating 'Incoming Mail' thanks with the moral support from CCT, including checking the Connection Doctor.

Have yourself a good day! And, I see you are a cat lover too!

you know cats do not reciprocate the Love, right? Cats are great, but fickle... I knew a cat that just up and moved next door for no apparent reason - never came 'home'!

    see you around

Quite true! Fickle and they also hold grudges! Ditto for us except further than next door.

We had one cat who birthed kittens, would feed them, take-off for hours returning for the next feed. Once we gave away the kittens we never saw her for 2 years. By that time we had moved the street over. She found us! Said, 'Hello', took-off, never to be seen again. I know human stories like this! LOL
