Q: Is anyone else having speaker issues after showering with the watch?

I have had my apple watch replaced once already for muffled sound/speaker issues.  I have had my replacement watch back for a few days.  I have worn it in the shower 2 times.  After I shower my speaker does not work.  It takes hours to be able to hear it again.  I am considering returning it and getting my money back.   It is so expensive and according to the marketing we should be able to wear it in the shower.  I can't decide if it is worth the money if I can't wear it in the shower without worrying.

I'm having the same problem for about a week. Whenever I sweat a lot after an extreme work out or after I take shower (Sometimes even when I do dishes), my AW speakers don't work anymore. First, I find out the sound is not completely out, it just becomes very low. I can still hear something if I bring it close enough to my ear. Secondly, usually after one complete charging time, the speaker is back to normal some how. So I decide to play around with it a little bit.

Finally I think I figure it out! Whenever my AW goes "mute" after soaking in water/sweat, I literally suck on all the holes that can possibly conceal water. I know it sounds stupidly ridiculous and skeptical. But IT WORKS! I'm guessing it's the water that runs into the speaker holes thus blocks the sound coming out.

This is so obvious. I cannot believe how well it worked. Thank you for posting this.

Thank you so much!!! I was sick all day and decided to wash all the bedding to get rid of any germs. Unfortunately the watch was in the bedding and went through the washing machine. Everything worked great but the speakers were really quiet. Fortunately blowing some compressed air did the trick. Next time I'm sick the watch will stay on the charger. Bright side my watch smells April fresh.

Simply blow into the top slit with your mouth and you'll see a droplet come out of the bottom one. I've done this 30 times now

Apple expressly advises against using compressed air when cleaning or drying Apple Watch:

"Compressed air .. can cause damage".

    - Cleaning and wearing Apple Watch - Apple Support

"Don’t use .. compressed air when cleaning your Apple Watch".

    - Apple Watch User Guide (Safety, Handling, and Support > Important handling information).
