Q: After  Music - Watch Music app Does NOT tally with iPhone

Hello all,

Signed up  Music on iTunes (and iPhone) and all my own songs, playlists are uploaded into iCloud Library, added a few new albums from  Music, change a few playlist names - all these on iTunes and all updated and reflected on iPhone as well.

(Previously I sync physical songs/playlists from iTunes to iPhone, now iPhone is on iCloud Music Library)

Was listening to while commuting, using  Watch as the "remote control" to skip songs and trying to search an album/playlist from  Music I just added, it was not there.

In fact the whole playlists in my watch was that of "pre- Music", i.e. not tally, not updated with the current one on my iPhone, for example I have created a new folder "Daily HITS" via iTunes and inside a few playlists, this reflects on iPhone but not on the watch.

(I did not sync any playlist to the watch)

How to refresh/update the playlists etc on the  Watch? To be the same as on the iPhone and on iTunes?

Many thanks.

    Hey howwow,

If I understand correctly, the playlists on your Apple Watch don’t match the playlists on your iPhone 6 Plus, and you want to know how to sync playlists to your Apple Watch. The article linked below will walk you through the process of syncing playlists to your Apple Watch.

Listen to music on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

    Sync your playlist

    1. Set your Apple Watch on its charger and make sure the device is charging.
    2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
    3. From the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch > Music > Synced Playlist.
    4. Tap the playlist you want to sync to your Apple Watch. When a message next to your playlist says Sync Pending, your playlist will begin syncing from your iPhone to your Apple Watch.
    5. Wait until the sync is finished before using your Apple Watch. To see the sync progress, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap Music.

You might need to download any music stored in the cloud, such as music from Apple Music or iTunes Match, to your iPhone before you can sync it with the Watch.

    Cheers,

    -Jason

    Hello Jason,

Thanks for replying but I think you got me wrong. I did not want to sync a particular one playlist to my watch. Before activating  Music, when I use my  Watch as a remote to my iPhone's Music app, when I click 'Playlist' on the watch, it has the same playlists as on my phone, so I can actually scroll to a particular playlist and start playing, all from my watch. i.e. Watch is reflecting the same playlists (created), artists, songs as on the phone.

But after activating  Music, as I understand it, all my music on my phone now is in iCloud, and not physically sync and store from my iTunes on my Mac which I have previously done. (Before  Music, I did not activate iCloud Music Library). Now the watch retains the pre- Music playlists etc, not the current one on my iTunes and on my iPhone.

But you may have "hit a note" there (pardon the pun), could it because now all my music is in iCloud that somehow the iPhone's latest playlists etc is not reflected on my watch? I could perform an experiment now is to revert back to previous state and have all the selected music sync physically into my phone (i.e. deactivate iCloud Music Library) and see what happens. But this way the newly added  Music songs, albums etc will not reflect on the phone.

    Thanks.

I have something like this too. I hope there's a solution.

I do want to say, however, that I don't know if it's necessarily pre-/post Apple music.  Since June 30, I've added many artists to my library. I've also added at least one playlist. This playlist shows up on my lunch and some of the artists show up in the watch listing, but many of the ones since do not.

And of course, now that I've committed it to writing, the problem fixed itself this morning
