You haven't provided much information, at a bare minimum we need to know the version of OS X and version of iTunes installed on the computer.
You may also want to consider posting on the iTunes forum too.
Finally, let us know what photo management app you use on your computer.

But I didn't need to do all of it. I just trashed the cache; my iTunes was up to date. Then I rebooted Ed Capitan and my iPhone 6S (9.1) and all is fine again.
