Feb 4, 2015 4:46 AM in response to Ry1988by jessikaholmes,Did you find a solution to this problem? I am trying to restore sms to my iPhone 4 with ios 7, as something is corrupt in my software which disabled bluetooth and the only way around it is to restore to factory settings, but I need to keep my sms!

From what I can see those programs only allow you to extraxt sms, but not put them back on the phone once it has been restored?

Feb 5, 2015 7:07 AM in response to jessikaholmesby Lawrence Finch,Correct. There is no way to copy SMS from from the messages app on one phone to the messages app on another, EXCEPT to restore a complete phone backup to the 2nd phone. This will overwrite everything on the 2nd phone.

Feb 5, 2015 12:58 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby jessikaholmes,Thanks guys. I can't restore from my backup because it is corrupt and causing my bluetooth to not work

Feb 6, 2015 9:14 AM in response to jessikaholmesby Kelly Wilkerson,I assume by "corrupt" you mean that the backup has broken bluetooth settings stored inside of it? Let me know if that is not the case.
If you really want to restore that backup, but the bluetooth settings are standing in your way, you could restore and then do a Reset Network Settings from the Settings App -> Reset. If just resetting the network settings doesn't help, then you could do a Reset All Settings.

Feb 6, 2015 4:18 PM in response to golfnut1982by Alusinemond,No, it's not possible. However, you could try the computer apps PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Mac & PC):
http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
It wouldn't be automatic but you'd still have archived copies of your messages.
Best of luck.

Yeah that is what happened, something in my restore file caused the bluetooth to not work, and I know this is what happened as it works fine when restored to factory settings. I have tried both a network setting reset and a reset all settings.
The strangest thing happened though, it may have been update 8.1.3, but the bluetooth just randomly started working one day. No idea how or why, but I was just checking it (again) and it picked up the car stereo!

Apr 9, 2015 6:34 PM in response to golfnut1982by EricDarnell,Your text messages should be still stored in iTunes backup file, only purchased items like music, podcast were sync through iTunes...so it is possible to restore text messages back to iPhone via iTunes backup on your computer. Or you can sign in your iCloud account get your lost SMS back.
Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

Jul 23, 2015 9:44 AM in response to golfnut1982by Kalenarts.com,My iPhone IOS is corrupt so says Apple & Verizon and no way to restore without deleting all my text messages. Not acceptable. There has to be a solution... Looks like this post is "Branched to a new discussion" but when I click on the link to go to that discussion it says "Unauthorized". Is anyone finding any answers to this by chance?

There is. Restore the iPhone from your current backup.
