Q: Logic Pro 9 Installation problem (as part of Logic Studio)

Hello,

Today, I attempted to install the Logic Studio suite via the original disks onto my mid 2012 MacBook Pro, which is using OS X 10.9.5 and a 2.5 GHz Intel Core I5 processor, and plenty of memory room.  .  I used that disc package once before to install Logic Studio onto my iMac desktop, and so this attempt would only be a second use of the disk.  Although I'm not so concerned about the Waveburner and Soundtrack Pro apps that are part of LS, they seemed to install just fine and I opened them with no problem, although I didn't try to use them.

My real concern is to get Logic Pro 9 on my Macbook and that's where the problem is.   I received a failure message after I inserted the first disk which it asks for after you have inserted the install disk.  The 1st disk it asks for is Audio Content 1.  It seemed to be in there for a while, showing the running blue and white lines that it does while in the install process, then it sent the failure message, then asked me to install Audio Content 2.  It moved through installing all subsequent disks it asked for smoothly.   When I went into my applications folder, the icon for Logic Pro 9 was there, but it had a sign indicating it wasn't going to work, namely a circle with a diagonal line running through it.    Does anyone know what the problem might be?  I thought Logic Pro 9 was compatible with Mavericks.

Regards and thank you ahead of time!

I tried a re-install and as previously, the LP icon was in my app folder, but still contained the circle with the diagonal line through it, so I clicked on it and it said that my version of LP, 9.1.1 was not compatible with my OS, which is 10.9.5.  I thought LP was compatible with Mavericks.

And by the way, why can't I edit my own content, as I could have more easily edited my longer question above?

    Thanks in advance.
