Jul 19, 2015 5:04 AM in response to JaxFLBearby stesti,Any of the apps in the UK App Store advertised as "supports Apple Pay". Like Just Eat, Just Park or Hotel Tonight.

Jul 22, 2015 8:55 AM in response to stestiby Sarthak83,I am facing the same issue. I tried JustEat, yplan, transferwise, jdsport. All of them are advertised in appstore as "supports apple pay".
I contacted apple customer care and they confirmed that "in-app" purchases via apple pay is not available yet in the UK. Only physical purchase is available.
Which is a bit odd.
Did you try contacting customer care?

Jul 22, 2015 8:58 AM in response to Sarthak83by stesti,It should be available, actually. I contacted the developer of some apps and they mentioned it might be related to me using an AmEx card instead of a debit card. They mentioned it should appear if using a debit card (I am waiting for my bank to join AP in a couple of weeks).
Sarthak83, what card are you using?

Jul 22, 2015 9:08 AM in response to stestiby Sarthak83,I am using AmEx as well. So, is that the issue? My bank (HSBC) has not joined AP as well. Hope they will soon.
Does that mean we cannot use american express on AP? that's a deal breaker for me.
I contacted transferwise developers. and they actually said AP is not supported on apps yet. I contacted yPlan. They are yet to respond.

Jul 22, 2015 9:12 AM in response to Sarthak83by stesti,I am not quite sure that is the real reason why we don't see the "ApplePay" button in-apps. But it's the only plausible explanation I got to date.
I got this from JustEat developers via Twitter.
Although I am not quite convinced, I will wait for next tuesday (July, 28th) to verify this theory: I have HSBC as well and they confirmed they will launch ApplePay support on July, 28th. I'll add my debit card and see.

Jul 22, 2015 9:25 AM in response to stestiby Sarthak83,okay. I hope the AmEx issue will be sorted soon. Is it worthwile contacting them directly? I think I will in any case.
Good, there is at least one other person in the same boat.
I will try with HSBC once they are on AP. I will update the thread if anything.
thanks stesti.

Jul 24, 2015 3:48 AM in response to wegrasby Sarthak83,A quick update on the issue. AmEx doesnot support in-app purchases via apple pay. This feature will be available in iOS9 which is strange.
As of now, only Visa And Mastercard supports in-app via AP. (I have not verified it myself as my bank doesnot support AP yet).
in-store as well, not all merchants support AmEx via AP. Only a handful of them do as of now (like Boots, TFL, M&S).
Here is a very useful blog that details everything about contactless and apple-pay, which merchant accepts etc. It is run by a guy called Duncan Stevenson.

Jul 28, 2015 9:50 PM in response to wegrasby Sarthak83,I can confirm that VISA credit card on HSBC works fine with apple pay! The buttons are visible now. So it is in fact the problem with American Express!
Cheers
