Then, connect your iPhone on your PC, open the PC files explorer and click on your iPhone, open the DCIM file and remove the contents of his subfolders

I have the same problem that Klaus- asia had.

I have windows 7 pro on pc. I have now manually deleted all photos on my iphone 6+  running ios 8.4. Under settings>Photos and camers it still shows i have 3.9 GB in the photo library.....so when i try to use your method above and open  the DCIM folder it now shows no contents....that would be good except  the phone still seems to have 3.9 GB tied up  photos....

this is a real pain, pls apple give me a solution and make it easier

    thanks, Jim

Dear discuss277: That approach worked - its not 100% stable but with a few tries I managed to empty all folders under DCIM. Thanks a lot for your support - this is really something missing. I had a similar problem with the contacts - suddenly all contacts showed two-tree times in the phone and only once in the Outlook-Contact database. The only way to solve this without destroying the Outlook contact database was to use a supporting app "Groups" to delete all contact info and than to reinstall from Outlook. Apple should find some solutions for summary deletion of information on the phone - since data accumulate very fast - and a full memory means the phone does not work properly anymore.
