Q: I want to limit the purchases made on family sharing to adults can I do this?

I want to be able to limit purchase made to adults on my account as the organizer in family sharing. Is this possible to do?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

    I don't know think there is really a way to do this.

    The Ask To Buy capability of Family Sharing can only be enabled for members under 18.

     

    Members can pay for their own purchases if they buy and redeem gift cards in sufficient amounts, each in their own account.  However, the system does not provide a way for the Family Organizer to enforce this, so you will have to reach an understanding with the members to make sure they keep a sufficient Store credit balance to cover any purchases they make.

     

    If they cannot be trusted to do this, then you can use the procedure in this guide to remove them from the Family Sharing group:
