Q: iPhone plays music volume soft when on Dock

iPhone 6, 128GB, iOS 8.4

When connecting the iPhone to my car sound system via the USB cable (dock mode), the music always plays in a lower then normal volume.

Usually i will set the volume in my car stereo to 9. the music volume playing from the car radio will be normal and good. but at the same setting on the 9, the music playing from the connected iPhone will be soft hence i have to pump it up to 15 to get a comfortable music level.

This issue i noticed will be make good when i start the Maps navigation. The music volume will suddenly turn back up to normal (and setting of volume previously set at 15, it was suddenly deafening) once the Maps turn-by-turn starts to speak. The playing music also will turn back up to normal when i get SIRI to speak.

What could be the issue here?

Is this a widely know issue? because i can't seem to find anyone complaining about this. or could it be just my phone?

Cheers,

Anthony

I was having the same issue and thought to close apps to see if something was running in the background, preventing the music from playing at full volume. After closing Facebook the volume went to normal. I'll have to try it a few more times to see if that app was creating the problem.
