What model MacBook Pro?
Maybe this will help:
How to use Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic with your Mac - Apple Support
If you MacBook has 3.5 mm headphone jack then any standard 3.5 mm earphones will work. You do not need Apple ones

Any standard headphone with a 3.5mm jack can be used. For VOIP make sure it has Mic.
