2. OS X will use as much RAM as it can possible use.
3. Unless you have SWAP written, it doesn't matter, at all!
4. Never worry about RAM use in OS X, it will take care of itself unless you don't have enough. (8 is enough)
You are clearly a Windows person , trying to manage your system in Mac is pretty useless. It will do it for you, sit back and relax.
