If the playlist are visible on your Mac (12.2.1), you will be able to recover them on your iOS devices. Disable iCloud Music library on your iPhone in Settings, under Music. Then go into iTunes and sign out. Power off your device for a few minutes. After powering up, go back to your iTunes account and sign in using your Apple ID. Then go to Settings and enable iCloud Music Library. Upon doing this, all playlist should be visible on your iPhone. Hope this helps out.

Thank you so much! This did indeed solve the problem and my Summer School students did not have to resort to my personal music selection for class! Thanks again.

I have the opposite problem.  The playlists are on my iPhone and iPad but not in the library on the PC.

Can't figure out how to get them to show up on teh PC - prefer to manage the content there, download new songs etc.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help with this.

    Hello,

If iTunes Match playlists appear on your iOS devices but not on your primary device, the solution lies in the settings on your Mac. In iTunes, go to Preferance>General and disable iCloud Music Library and sign out of iTunes immediately after. Restart your Mac, sign back into iTunes Match using your Apple ID and proceed back to Preferances>General and enable iCloud Music Library. You will see the checkmark after turning it on. This should load your playlists. image.jpg

    Hi there,

This solution may be helpful for people who are using iPhone 5, 5c, 6, etc AND who are still using Lion, because without Yosemite iCloud Music isn't available.

I have an iPhone 5c  with iOS 8.4.1 BUT I'm using an early 2008 MacBook with Lion.

What finally worked for me was this (There are several minor steps, but the whole process except for the actual sync to my iPhone, which will vary according to your music selections --- I had more than 5 hours worth of music in one playlist --- took me about 5 minutes.)

FIRST: Make sure to keep a physical version of your PLAYLIST on your hard drive. (That way, even if for some reason you lose the version in iTunes you will still be able to retrieve it.)

    1) I created a stand-alone NEW folder in my iTunes Media/Music Folder on my MacBook

    2) I went into the Playlist option within the iTunes version on my MacBook

    3) I copied the actual songs on my Playlist (keep your finger on the [command key] while clicking each selection) DO NOT bother to try to export anything to the library because that will only give you a .txt or some other non-music file

    4) I pasted that list into the NEW folder I created in Step 1

SECOND: HERE IS THE PART THAT IS COUNTER-INTUITIVE BUT ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME

    a) I connected my iPhone to my MacBook as if to do a regular wifi sync

    b) I went into the Sync music option, BUT this time, INSTEAD of choosing all music, I choose ONLY the Select playlists, artists, albums, genres option

    c) Then I performed an otherwise typical wifi sync

Your Playlist should now be visible on your iPhone.

    d) The final step is to go back and do a complete wifi sync of your Entire Music Library

Your Playlist and all of your other music should now be visible on your iPhone and your computer

    ---I hope this helps

I have a slightly different problem. I have several playlists on my phone but none on my macbook so when I went to sync with my computer today, my phones playlists were deleted. How do I get these back? Inorder to prevent this from happening again should I set my back up to icloud or keep it to my computer. I really want these back or atleast prevent it from happening again next time I sync.
