Q: CC not showing up in Apple Pay

I have added my debit card to Apply Pay in my Passbook on my iPhone 6. But the card does not show up in the Passbook on my Apple Watch like the other two vender cards do (iTunes & Starbucks). When I press the Apple Pay icon it says to add it via my iPhone. I went to my iPhone 6 and set Passbook & Apple Pay to mirror my iPhone, but it still doesn't show up on the watch.

Any suggestions?

Make sure the bank associated with your debit card is listed here >  Apple Pay participating banks - Apple Support

If you just added the debit card, it can take up to 24 hours to receive a verification code from your bank to add the card to Apple Pay.

You need to add your payment cards separately on your Apple Watch (via the Apple Watch app on your iPhone).

The two devices are treated entirely separately, with each combination of payment card + device being assigned a unique Device Account Number.

Actually, I had added it a month or more ago and it showed up on both devices. Last week, I was forced to restore my iPhone 6 to factory reset and rebuild the apps. I have done this and the debit card was validated by my bank yesterday. It's still not showing up on my Apple Watch, unfortunately.

So I went to the link in your reply. However, it appears that if I follow it, I am needed to again take a photo of my debit card and have the bank validate that. My question to you is, if I do that, is it just for the watch, or am I reloading a debit card onto my iPhone that the bank has already validated and shows up just fine on my iPhone?

When you add a payment card to Apple Pay on your Apple Watch (via the Apple Watch app on the iPhone), you are ONLY adding that payment card to Apple Pay on your Apple Watch.

There is a difference, also, between Apple Pay and "just" Passbook.

It is possible, for example, to register a "payment card pass" for Passbook only - these will show in Passbook on both devices following a single registration process - but they will only show within the Passes section and provide details of, for example, balances and transaction history.

    • Example: American Express Pass for Passbook.

You can't pay with a Passbook Pass using Apple Pay. You instead need to add one or more payment card specifically for Apple Pay. Payment cards appear above "Passes" in Passbook. Adding Apple Pay cards to one device doesn't add them to the other.
