Q: Contacts fails to save vCards from Server: broken vCards?

I have OS X Server Yosemite 10.3 running on Xserve with Server App 4.1. Next to all normal users I have a dummy user for all company contacts that I set up on most of the company's (Mac) computers.

Since a couple of days whenever I set up said dummy account on a new computer, contacts can't sync the vcards. It will load a changing number of contacts and then stop with an error message telling me it failed to copy contacts from the server to this computer. When I look into console there seem to be three contacts that are ignored, probably due to corrupt JPEGs.

The trouble is, I cannot edit or delete those contacts since they will not sync to contacts in the first place. Is there any way to edit contacts from a server without setting up the account on a client first? Say, edit them directly as admin on the server?

Anyone had a similar problem?

Xserve, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Server App 4.1

Somehow there is a problem with group managment for the contacts server.

If I delete all groups and contacts from the dummy user it starts synchronizing again. But I can only drag users from other adress books over to the dummy user. If I drag over groups or contacts from groups (into groups) I get the message "could not synchronize all contacts with server" and the whole trouble starts all over again.
