Q: How do I see my uploaded itunes library on the rest of my devices?

I successfully uploaded my itunes library to Apple Music from my macbook pro with: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204925

but the library actually does not come up on my ipad, iphone or ipod. My mac shows all the content in my library as either uploaded or in Apple Music and I would like to be able to see and listen to this content on my other devices that are connected and enabled to work with Apple Music, but the data is simply not appearing on my mobile devices. Any tips appreciated.

I restored one of my devices (old iphone I'm going to start using as an ipod) and the apple music kicked in with my library music. My playlist names also appear, but they are empty. That is, none of the actual songs are in the playlists, even though my uploaded library is now available on the device. Is there a couple days latency for these things?

I have the same issue with both your questions. I have also searched for a solution but still not found it either. I have subscribed to iTunes Match to see if that solved the problem, but that didn't work either, so perhaps I have wasted my money. Sorry this is not a solution but I feel your pain

    carpozed,

I forgot to post, but I actually figured out how to get songs to show up on my playlists.

So first sign up to apple music, go on itunes->Preferences->General and click on the box next to 'iCloud Music Library (YourEmail.com) Add Apple Music songs and playlists, and access them across all of your devices.' Your library will start uploading to Apple Music. Mine was around 8,000 and took about one night to upload.

Then, restore your mobile devices and synch them with your apple account and turn on Apple Music on them. This allowed my devices to see my entire library and playlists, BUT the playlists didn't have any music in them. To get songs to show up on playlists, I edited the playlist on itunes (add and delete a song or something simple) and voila, the playlists were magically populated with songs!

Let me know if this also works for you.

Thank you for that I have checked the iTunes preferences and that box is ticked. I have also found out that I needed to update my iCloud music library - >File>Library>Update iCloud music library.

Groan - sorry the thought of having to restore my iPhone fills me with dread I will see if I can just add the odd album before I commit to restoring! I might try your delete/add trick

    I will keep you posted

Here's another silly trick to get your itunes library to show up on a device (iphone in my case).

Once I had already set up everything above, and even had a different device (other iphone) all set up with my library, playlists etc. I had a device that was not showing me my library. To fix it, I tried restoring the iphone, but that didn't do it. This is what did work:

    -Go to Music app

-Tap the top left corner, where a user logo is to access account settings

-Tap Sign Out on the bottom

-Once signed out, in the same account settings screen, tap top right corner, Cancel

-You'll see buttons to sign up for Apple Music, tap the sign up for apple music button

-Enter your information as if you were signing up from the beginning and confirm

-It will tell you you already have an apple music account, and start downloading your library

If you sign out from your account, you might have to repeat these steps after restarting the phone.
