Q: RAM and Graphic Card for IMAC 27 Mid 2011

Hello ,

I'm Using:

iMac Mid 2011

CPU 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7

RAM 24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ( 2x 4gb 2x 8Gb )

Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB

I have made couple of upgrades last year, i'm not an expert in hardware or any thing but i think i have made a mistake on RAM there i was thinking to make more upgrades on my RAM then i have been told that there are limitations to it and i have exceeded that.

I want to know why i can't go higher if any one can help me understand that.

I also want to upgrade my Graphic can i  do that in my Model ?

Last and not least my CPU can be upgraded ?

Thank you for your help in advance.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT3011 indicates that 16 GB RAM is max that's supported. That's a machine-specific limit based on many things. Do a google search for mid 2011 imac ram and peruse the various items about max RAM. As for the other two items, you might be able to up the video card, but it's not a simple thing to get inside and do that sort of stuff. AFAIK, the CPU is hard wired onto the mother board, so good luck with trying to change it. Better would be to get a new machine.
