Q: My computer just randomly shuts off and restarts

I'm running a mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15'' that has been running GREAT for its entire life. When I upgraded to OS X Yosemite, my computer started shutting off randomly and rebooting. This typically happened whenever I used Safari, Chrome, and tried using the auxiliary input for an additional computer monitor. Right now, Firefox is the only web browser that doesn't consistently cause a crash.

 

I ran the disk utility and have both verified and repaired the disk, while starting the computer in safe mode one time and then again by starting with "Command+R."  When I did disk verification, it said something along like "one line was missing, the total value was XXXXXX and should be XXXXXX."
