Aug 3, 2015 7:28 AM in response to texanianby AJ397,TThe onlyy thing I notice is that the screen may appear slightly brighter on the right side, but I think that may be because there are more words on that side and the left has the margins. Is it only happening in I books?

Aug 3, 2015 8:25 AM in response to AJ397by texanian,Yes, only in iBooks. It's not just the margin, it's about 1/4 of the screen on the left side.

Aug 3, 2015 8:28 AM in response to texanianby AJ397,Have you tried holding the sleep/wake and home button until the apple logo appears to see if that fixes the issue?

Aug 3, 2015 10:07 AM in response to texanianby AJ397,You could try making a backup and then doing a restore to factory, but I would make a genius bar appointment at an apple store. see this link for more info:Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Aug 3, 2015 10:58 AM in response to AJ397by texanian,I've done factory resets since this problem started occurring. Since this is the only app that does this (no problem in Nook, Kindle, or Kobo), I don't think it's a problem with the screen. Next time I'm going to be near an Apple Store, I'll make an appointment. Thank you for your time and suggestions, Questionasker3.

Jan 21, 2016 7:23 PM in response to texanianby tralaladeda,DDid you ever get this fixed? I've been having the problem since the last update.

Aug 10, 2016 11:42 PM in response to tralaladedaby McGuerk,In case you haven't found this fix yet, it works perfectly. You'll have to do it again every time you turn the brightness back up, but it's a really easy fix and only takes two seconds:
- Dec 9, 2014 4:22 AM Re: When running iBooks and turning the brightness very low, it only darkens half the page. Anyone else?in response to amfox34I may have a fix for everyone. I updated my iPad 2 a day or so ago, and now run into the same issue as everyone else. Try this, open ibooks, go to the book you want, now hit the options button turn the brightness up, then flip your iPad to portrait view now turn the brightness all the way down, then flip back to landscape. This sould fix any issues. atleast its what works for me. This is a stupid fix, but what do we expect. We dont have iPad air's or i phone 10s so why should we have any technical support for old out dated tech that they dont care about anymore.
