Q: Macintosh HD icon disappeared from Desktop

Hi there,

suddenly my "Macintosh HD" icon disappeared from Desktop, I am using Yosemite 10.10.4

I continue to see it on Finder on left Sidebar but no way on desktop.

I have connected a an external video, mirror it hoping to see it but no way.

The unique "strange" happened recently I've connected a projector that change my resolution so my scare is that the icon is finished out the visible screen but I don't how bring back to correct position.

OT question : Is it possible move the upper menù to the left or right  ? Just to check the the icon isn't there.

By the way : I have no access at the mentioned projector , it was in a customer site.

I have checked in Finder preferences and all is correct set three, I've tried to uncheck, reboot and check again but nothing change

I've tried to hide and unhide all the desktop icons but again no success

Does anyone experience on such kind of problem ?

Please let me know.
