Q: reset smc without keys

My macbook is shutting off after long periods of use and asking me to sleep, shutdown, and restart. I believe I need reset my  smc but i can't use left control, shift, or option. I have a dvd stuck in the super drive and nothing i have can get it out. So on the apple support Get help with the slot-loading SuperDrive on your Mac computer - Apple Support it says to reset smc. I have heard that apple support diagnostics resets it. I have also heard about doing it with rEEit but it is outdated and can't figure out how to do it on rEEind.

Thank you for any help you can give.
