Q: 2 MacBook Airs, both stopped turning on at the same time
Hi,
We own two MacBook Airs (2013), one for my wife and one for myself. I bought both from the same shop at the same time around 13 months ago.
Yesterday morning my wife reported that her laptop wouldn't turn on - I told her to go use mine until I got home, she then told me mine wouldn't turn on. Both of them were alive and kicking the previous evening, neither of them were plugged into the charger overnight (so it wasn't a power surge, or anything like that). Both of them were left in separate rooms overnight (so it wasn't moisture or something like that).
My own seemed to get to the Apple icon at boot, but then stopped even getting that far after a couple of reboot attempts - my wife's wouldn't boot at all (like mine now). I've tried all of the reset options several times, I've even tried the 'shake' solution. I seem to be able to get power to the right hand usb cable, when plugging my phone in on both - it reacts to the hard reset. Both of them also appear to be charging, going from orange to green after being full charged.
Anyone got any ideas what could have made both die at the same time?
