Aug 4, 2015 10:39 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby Destaneh,I don't know what was the original osx because I just bought the Mac about 6 months ago (it's late 2011 if that helps ) but when I took it to get it checked out it was in near perfect condition but now it's on OS X Yosemite.

From the 4 option menu select Disk Utility.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.
If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.
