Q: Voice Support completely disables my iPad

I inadvertently turned on Voice Support under Accessibility.  When the confirmation dialog box appeared, all button functionality disappeared and clicking on any button just caused the voice to say what the button was, but the functionality disappeared.  Now I can't restore or recover the iPad because it requires that I do something on the iPad (turn off Find My iPhone or unlock the iPad with my passcode).  None of the buttons work so I can't even unlock it.

Help!

To unlock: double tap where it says slide to unlock and then double tap each of the numbers in your passcode.

To turn off voiceOver via the iPad you have multiple options:

    • triple click the home button and see if an accessibility options box pops up, if it does you can disable voiceOver in there.
    • if you have Siri tell Siri to turn voiceOver off
    • If none of the above work, go to settings> general> accessibility> voiceOver and turn it off.

Note: you will need to double tap every button with voiceOver on. You also need to use 3 fingers to scroll. While the instructions on this link: iOS: Home screen icons are magnified or large - Apple Support are for zoom if you do the same thing in iTunes it will also turn off voiceOver.

Unfortunately, I just restored the iPad, so now I have to start over from scratch.  I wish I would have waited!  I was on the phone with an Apple support person and even he didn't tell me what you've told me.  UGH!
