Aug 5, 2015 10:47 AM in response to Damagebossby Loner T,You will need a full W7 installer, if you want to wipe and re-install W7. Is there a specific reason that you do not want to boot into XP and use the W7 installer (not the Restore disk) to upgrade to W7.
The Restore disk may be an OEM restore disk which will not work with Macs because it may have hidden partitions that Macs will not work with.

Aug 5, 2015 1:04 PM in response to Loner Tby Damageboss,My research efforts regarding what route to go and to purchase an upgrade disc from XP to Windows 7 has been very challenging. I just need to upgrade to windows 7 and remove all programs to allow me to install only what I need now.
The restoration disc is here now and I just wanted to know if this was a quick fix.
Also, when upgrading, will I use the original Snow Leopard OS disc that came with my Mac Book Pro to re-install the drivers?

If you insert the Restoration disk on the Windows PC, a listing from the disk would be very helpful.

It depends on your current OSX Version and Bootcamp Assistant Version. Please see System requirements to install Windows on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support for the currently available Drivers.

So how would I install those drivers in Boot camp if I downloaded it and I have no disc for Yosemite?
my plan is to go buy a copy of Windows 7 but my concern now is going to be how to install the Yosemite drivers.

Aug 5, 2015 5:15 PM in response to Damagebossby Loner T,You can use a USB2 and download BC drivers from System requirements to install Windows on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support and then Boot Camp: Install or repair Boot Camp drivers or Boot Camp: Solve Windows support software installation problems .
