Q: Airport Express blinking amber 4 times then green 3

My AX is blinking amber 4 times quickly, then 3 times more slowly, then repeats. Airport Utility cannot find it. I've tried all the resets. I've searched the communities and cannot find something similar with an answer. We lost power the other day if that helps.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 4 GB RAM

    That is not a standard blink code. Unless you are using an old v5 utility.. are you??

    Alternating amber/green

    When multiple Wi-Fi base stations are available during setup, you can trigger this behavior by using the Identify feature in AirPort Utility.

     

    Which model Express??

     

    DId you plug in by ethernet?

     

    Do a factory reset on the newest one.. unplug power.. hold in reset and power on without releasing reset.. wait until the front LED blinks rapidly.

    Then release reset and wait.. if it doesn't change.. the express is dead.. if under warranty return for refund.
