The symptom you describe of the cursor moving randomly or maybe a window popping up makes me think of the trackpad rather than the keyboard. If it were the keyboard I would expect random characters typed.

Although it does seem to be the keyboard you may still want to isolate further.
I would start by enabling the Keyboard Viewer and keep that open to monitor if random keys do seem to be activated causing the issue. See the section "Keyboard has one or more keys that don't respond" in Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues - Apple Support
Also test in Safe Mode or maybe with another user account to isolate software conflicts or issues.

And if you have an external keyboard to use, you could test with that.
If it does turn out to be the keyboard physically, it would need service.
