Q: What is exact process for setting up my computer with Apple TV.

I am having difficulty configuring my computer to link with Apple TV. I think this happened after Photos was added. I need detail for the computer. The AppleTV is configured correctly, because my friends computer will run on it. Please help.

There´s no configuration necessary. As long as both devices, Apple Tv and Macbook Pro, are on the same wifi network, all you need to do is select the Apple Tv from the Display icon on the top bar.

What happens when you try to do this?

Are you referring to AirPlay or Homesharing. AirPlay requires OSX 10.8 and your profile says you have 10.7. Homesharing requires you to turn it on which you can do from the file menu in iTunes.

    I have OS 10.10.4

Haven't updated my profile. Have homesharing turned on. It seems that the problem lies in having the Apple TV look for the correct photo folder to link with. I have designated the folder within the iTunes app, but iTV said it can't find the folder. You made  a few suggestions a week or two ago. I followed up on them but to no avail. I don't know where else to find help.

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes I can use air play. But I want to access photos using homesharing. Thanks for your help.

What exactly is the problem with homesharing, is it just photos that you have a problem with or is it music, TV shows and other items. If it's just photos is it just specific photos or albums or is it all of your photos.

O.k, and what seems to be the problem?  We can't help you if you don't explain exactly what issues you are having.

What happens when you select the "Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV" from the Home Sharing Option in the File Menu of iTunes on your Computer.

Can you not select Albums?  Are the wrong Albums being selected?

For us to help you you need clearly identify what is going on.
