Aug 7, 2015 5:05 AM in response to LarryHNby Mark from Cheshire,I'm using OS X 10.7.5 on a MacBook and am trying to upload a photobook - as 'mjschm' reports, the book assembles but then won't upload and the order gets cancelled. Haven't changed anything recently. Wonder if it's Apple end as they no longer update iPhoto and have moved on to Photos? Can't find a way of moving the actual 'book' to our iMac either - just the photos. Don't want to have to start the whole book again - it's taken me ages!
Any ideas please?
Regards,
Mark

Aug 7, 2015 7:56 AM in response to LarryHNby mjschm,I am trying to upload a 20-page picture book. I have both 10.6.8 and the latest 10.7 and the process won't work in either operating system. I am using Iphoto 11 version 9.4.3.
I recently installed a new graphics card, Apple Mac Pro GeForce 7300 GT Graphics Card MA567Z/A. I have an old Mac Pro with 8G of ram.
I have tried all the suggestions to no avail here: iPhoto: Difficulty submitting a book, card, or calendar order - Apple Support.
Thank you for any thoughts of what might be wrong.
Sincerely,
MJ Schmelzer

Aug 8, 2015 11:27 AM in response to Mark from Cheshireby DAB33,I am having this issue as well. It took hours to assemble the book, but it freezes up upon uploading. Have tried for almost a week now, hitting "retry" over and over again. Was intending it to be a wedding gift and am afraid I will have to give up and go to Shutterfly or some other service. I have made a half dozen iPhoto books before and this never happened. I also was wondering if it was because of the change to photo, but I see posts having this problem going back to 2011.

I speculated that something might be wrong with my hardware. So for the fifth time, i made a completely new file, uploaded the photos and composed the picture book. Then I took that product to a friend and tried to buy the book on that friend's computer (running 10.6.8). This computer was ALSO unable to upload the project.
I now theorize that something has changed with Apple support: either the contract with MyPublisher is over or a later operating system is somehow required to buy books. I note that Photo apparently only works on Yosemite. I will make further inquiries on Monday.

Aug 8, 2015 5:28 PM in response to mjschmby LarryHN,As far as I know PhotoBooks can be ordered with iPhoto '11 - and iPhoto still works fine under OS X 10.10.4 (you need the current version 09.6.1)

Aug 9, 2015 6:31 AM in response to LarryHNby mjschm,My system is maxed at 10.7. I cannot afford to replace it at this time. The current version, 9.6.1 only works on yosemite as I understand it.
If that is the only way, I am locked out.

Aug 9, 2015 10:10 AM in response to mjschmby Old Toad,Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try ordering from there. Once in the Safe Mode preview the project according to this Apple document before ordering: Preview a print project in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture to avoid issues - Apple Support.
Save the pdf file to compare with the printed version when you receive it.
There have been others with the same problems in the last few days. One user said that Apple was aware of the issue and was working on it. I don't know what Print Product Store they were trying to reach so it might not be the same for you.

Aug 11, 2015 3:32 AM in response to mjschmby LizHR,I have had the same problem. After two fruitless hours on the phone to Apple "Support", no progress, and no promised email later either, so I downloaded Yosemite as my operating system. A slow process, but it worked. Then panic: my carefully prepared 72 page book wasn't there. Eventually I used Finder to find the iPhoto Library (in Yosemite it's just called Photos) and was then asked if I wanted to switch libraries. This I did - and lo and behold, I got the book back and, what's more, I have successfully loaded it and received confirmnation that the order is on its way. So, you could try this.

I am happy for you. I can't upgrade to Yosemite unfortunately. My system is maxed at 10.7. I can't afford to buy a whole new computer at this time.

Aug 11, 2015 6:26 AM in response to Old Toadby mjschm,Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have tried that to no avail.
Since there is ample evidence that there is support for Photo for photo books, but nothing working for Iphoto-initiated photo books, it seems likely Apple has cut the cord rather than is working on actually helping anything but the most recent customers. The situation is an incentive to find other software and producers and other ways of working rather than depending on Apple.
Thank you for your help.

Aug 11, 2015 9:09 AM in response to mjschmby Old Toad,There have been numerous reports of users unable to offer print products in the last 4-5 days. All indications is that the problem is on Apple's side and not the user's. Contact Apple for your area via the number at the bottom of this page to see if they have any current info on the servers' status.
