Q: iTunes won't recognize all Photos

Hello!  i have an iPhone 5s and an iMac.  When I sync my iPhone to iTunes, it only says I have 19 new photos to download.  However, I have over 300, along with about 10 videos that have not been downloaded.  I have tried to complete this several time with no luck.  I have look in iPhoto and am not able to find the missing photos that are on my phone.  Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello Dustin,

If you can't locate the photos in iPhoto try to locate them in Image Capture. It is a built in application on your iMac and you should be able to find it by searching in the spotlight search at the top right of the screen. Image capture is great at importing photos and videos and should let you view them before import just like iPhoto.

If you still do not see the photos when checking image capture be sure that they are not photos synced to the device from another computer or that they are not being saved to iCloud photo library (Settings>iCloud>Photos>iCloud Photo Library)

    I hope this helps.

HAve these photos been previously imported to this computer? We're these photos and videos taken on the iPhone or were they synced on? Synced photos won't import and previously imported ones won't import again.

Sorry I may have misunderstood your question. Are you trying to get these photos to your computer? Or are the photos already on the computer and you are trying to add them to the iPhone?

Thank you for the quick response and assistance!  As far as I know, these photos have not yet been imported to this computer.  I say that since I am not seeing the in "photo" on the iMac.  All these photos were taken using my iPhone.  Thanks again and please let me know if any other questions.  Dustin

No problem at all, I may not have explained this the best.  Yes, I am trying to get the photos I took using my iPhone to import onto my computer. Some of the recent photo import, others do not even show up when I pull up Photo (and plug my iPhone in).   Thanks again!!  Dustin

Thanks again!  I tried using Image Capture and it only shows 19 of the 900+ photos on my iPhone in Albums.  As I look through the album on my iPhone, most of the pictures are showing on my iMac in Photo from a previous download.  However, there are still 50+ that are not appearing in Photo.  This also includes several videos.  Is there a reason some photos may not import?

    Thanks again!
