Q: Photos takes forever to open after update

Just rebooted my mac after an update and Photos no longer opens. It says I can't quit it because it's creating a new library but it has been spinning for two hours. I do have a lot of photos on my hard drive, but ***? I'm afraid to quit because it might just have to go through this whole thing again....  Is this right?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Ah, after rebooting and restarting the app several times it has loaded my library. I did leave it running for hours and hours at one point, but it didn't look like it had finished. At any rate, the problem is solved.
