Q: Problem accessing photos

Have you ever imported these photos before?-AJ

Where did the pictures come from? Did you take them on the phone or where they synced through iTunes? Also where do the pictures show up on your phone? Look under Albums, are they in Camera Roll or on an Album?

Pictures in Camera Roll should show up on your PC if you open the Windows File Manager. The phone should show up just like a camera. Is that what your have tried already? Pictures in an album that was synced through iTunes can only be deleted through iTunes.

I emailed the hosts and explained I made this ID when I was younger and thought I was only going to ask one question, I never thought I would be answering them.  I felt my old username was no longer appropriate.

Hi, glad to help. You mentioned that you are on iOS 8.4. Open up your Photos App on your phone. At the bottom there are two choices, Photos and Albums. Click on Albums and you should see Camera Roll and Recently Deleted and perhaps others. Let me know what you see, please. On your pc when you connect your phone I assume you see it on Windows File Manager just like a camera. Go to that folder and open up ALL the subfolders, there are very likely to be many more than just one folder called DCIM. That is where your pictures will be. You would have to copy from all the DCIM folders to your PC. Please post back and let me know....

First go to the Recently Deleted Album, Select All, and Delete them (I am assuming you do not want the recently deleted pictures). The pictures in Recently Deleted take up a lot of space.

iPhones create multiple DCIM folders based on when the pictures were taken. You would have to look at them all since you have so many pictures and some date back quite a while. After you have done this, I have more ideas but will wait until you report again. Really need to look at all the subfolders on your PC that appear under the iPhone and then copy those to your PC.

As long as it not the same computer it wouldn't matter. The only thing I can think of is maybe because of icloud they are already on the computer and hiding from you.   Could you maybe go to a library and try to import the photos to a flash drive there and then save that folder to your computer? 

Hmmm.... not sure where we are now. Are you still trying to copy some pictures that are on your phone but somehow are not able to copy to your PC? From your post above, all the pictures and movies that show up under the t's iPhone folder should be able to be copied to your PC by the usual method, select or select all and copy to a folder of your choice. At this point are there more pictures in your phone that you see on your PC? I have not come across this before in doing what you are trying to do which I do regularly. Are you certain that none of the pictures in your phone were at one time synced from your PC to your iPhone? It would take a different method to access those.
