Q: Apple Calendar syncing between iMAC and iPad mini not consistent

Hi,  I have spent some time with Apple help on the telephone and investigating myself to try and make the synchronisation of my calendar on my desktop iMAC and my iPad Mini work properly, this should be a seamless, basic function of the Apple systems and it doesn't seem very reliable.   In short, items entered on the mini iPad appear almost immediately on the iMAC calendar but the reverse process does not happen unless I refresh the calendar pages by swiping down the calendars dialogue box in the iPad mini.  This seems somewhat laborious,  does everybody else have to do this manually to ensure syncing between similar devices?

For information, I have the same iCloud and mail account set on both devices,  I have the latest software installed on both, I have the same default calendar set on both.....as far as I can see all boxes ticked.  I have iCloud syncing set on Push.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud then deselect the box next to Calendars then reselect it.

On your iPad tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Calendars off then back on.

Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

Thanks for  your reply Carolyn,  that is more or less what the lady at Apple eventually got round to saying, but I am surprised if this is how the system is designed to work.  I know it will probably fix things, but the question is do I now have to think about doing this on a regular basis because the syncing has become in need of a kick-start?   It also means I cannot always rely on my min-IPAD calendar being automatically up to date with my main PC when I am travelling about.
