Q: Photobook assembled but won't upload

I've been trying to buy a photobook for the past 24 hours but each time the process seems to hang at 'upload' stage. The book is assembled but it doesn't upload. I've got very good and fast internet connection, I'm running OS X 10.7.5 with iPhoto 11 version 9.4.3.

I've put 60+ hours into this book, it is expected to cost €85 but no joy. Anyone out there can help me?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Try ordering from the Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode.

Booted up in safe mode as you suggested, and then ordered. Book assembled as usual and for a split second it appeared to start to upload but the blue bar quickly dissappeared! What next? Could it be the file size is too big?

It's not the file size.  It could be some issue on the server side of things.  I'd call your the Apple number for your country and start an inquiry there: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

There have been several reports of this in the last few days

where are you located? What version of iPhoto? Does the project preview correctly?  Preview a print project in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture to avoid issues - Apple Support

I'm running iPhoto 11 version 9.4.3 on OS X 10.7.5. I'm in Ireland and the book previews OK. As mentioned in last thread the upload begins with the blue bar appearing but almost immediately disappears again...

Call Apple support - given the number of problems from different areas it may be an Apple server issue

Earlier there was a problem that could be solved by logging into you Keychain again - you can try that

    Thanks LarryHN,

Yeah, I saw the keychain tip and followed the steps but made no difference. Finding Apple Support is another maze and probably going to cost!

    OK guys,

The book is finally uploaded and ordered!

I contacted Apple locally and got escalated to a very helpful support who took me through various cleaning exercises that ultimately didn't solve the problem. After a brief wait, I was advised to re-install iPhoto but to do so I needed to upgrade my OS to 10.9.1, and then upgrade iPhoto to 9.5.1. Six hours later I was able to order the book!

I'm not sure if I should be happy or angry...on the one hand I have resolved the issue (and thanks again to you guys for your efforts), but on the other hand, surely Apple could advise that a software upgrade is required and avoid so much wasted time?? Does this make sense?
