Q: How do I prevent iCloud contacts from duplicating my contacts multiple times?

I have 2 contacts that multiply on my iPhone thousands of times. I delete them and they come back. I signed into ICloud and deleted them there but they keep returning.   I turned off ICloud Contacts under iPhone settings and do not get the duplicates.  Went back to ICloud contacts and deleted all contacts.  Tried to refresh contacts and the 2 contacts returned. Deleted again and tried to import a Vcard, you guessed it the 2 contacts returned.

I now have an empty ICloud contacts folder.  Any suggestions/help will be appreciated.

I finally figured out how to do it. I closed Contacts in iCloud settings on all my devices and ICloud.  I saved a copy of my wife's contact list then deleted all contacts from ICloud, closed I cloud and shut down laptop then powered back on, opened ICloud contacts, imported saved contact list from wife laptop , turned contacts back on in settings on all devices and all is well now.  Hope this never happens to anyone.

There were 2 contacts that multiplied faster than I could delete, at one time I had over 1100 duplicates of each of the 2 and climbing.

    Thanks for your response.
