Q: Apple TV 5.3 with itunes 12.2 - Won't play music

I have a Mac with iTunes 12.2.x with 2nd Gen ATV with 5.3 which has stopped playing my music.  It will play all other media types (TV Shows, Movies etc), just not Music, which it lists, but when I select, it says that 'An error occurred' - The library plays fine under another ATV (3rd Gen, 6.2) and my music used to play under earlier versions of iTunes (I can't tell exactly when this stopped other than to say 'recently')

I'm not in a position to upgrade the firmware on the ATV2, so do I have to accept that my Music just won't play - Are there any workarounds?

    Hi p17blo,

I understand that your Apple TV is not playing music using Home Sharing as you would expect. To begin troubleshooting this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the steps outlined in the attached article below.

Hi, You will notice from my original post that home sharing is configured and had been working prior to the upgrade of itunes to 12.2 - All aspects of home sharing are working with the exception of playing music.  I can play movies, I can play TV shows.  I can even list all of my music, it just won't play.  Home sharing has been unlinked and relinked on this box.  Therefore I believe this is probably a compatibility issue between itunes 12.2 and ATV 5.3.  What I wan't to know is, is there a way around this?
