You can copy and paste them into other apps; you can simply NOT delete them, but otherwise, no.

Do a Google search for "backup text message iphone". There are third-party apps that will archive your text messages and save them in PDF format. I can't link to the actual websites for these apps but you should find them just fine using Google.
