Q: cant backup on icloud or itunes

hello there i was wondering if someone could possibly help me in regards to backup problems ive been experiencing for last 2 weeks. my iphone will not let me backup to icloud or itunes. icloud just keeps saying "backup could not be completed" and itunes is saying there "cannot backup iphone an error occured" with no error code or anything. my last icloud backup was 27th july. since then its been failing. ive tried many things ive found searching the forums but cant seem to get it to backup. these included deleting all previous backups on icloud and on itunes so im pretty snookered now and looking as though im gonna have to bite the bullet and restore as a new iphone. i was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar and had any ideas to try before i restore it. as i mentioned i have tried deleting all previous backups, resetting iphone several times, tried different wifi network, tried turning off notes/safari etc etc one by one and trying to backup. still get the same result. please.. anyone?

What kind of error message do you get when you try to back up to iTunes, just the plain message above? I assume you have tried a hard reboot, if not hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it comes up. You will not loose anything.

Have you tried a different cable? Cables are often the source of issues.

it starts syncing then quickly skips past step 2 which is backup and an error box pops up and says "this iphone could not be backed up as an error occured" ... that is all.. no error code or anything else. latest version of itunes installed. yes ive tried hard resetting several times and 3 different usb cables. i just dont understand how it just suddenley happened.

Try rebooting your compute also and check this one:

I Am having the same problem and errors Both with iCloud and iTunes. I have spent several hours on the phone with apples support with no resolution. Did u ever get it fixed? If so how? Thanks

unfortunatley not. tried everything singling out certain backup options and everything. had to restore iphone in the end. hope u get it sorted.
