You also need an iPhone TTY adapter: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MA854G/A/apple-iphone-tty-adapter. This is adapter allows you to use a standard TTY device. What I was looking for was a caption that came on automatically when I receive a call similar to the broadcast text on TV

but I was looking for closed captions on inbound calls to be automatic.
