Have you attempted to double click the CD/DVD?

Aug 13, 2015 9:43 AM in response to rkaufmann87by oldmoondog1,Yes I have done that and I get an error message saying "the operation cannot be completed because the original item [name of cd] could not be found". This is despite recognising the title of the CD.

Aug 13, 2015 10:26 AM in response to oldmoondog1by rkaufmann87,Reset the PRAM on both computers, then re-read the article again (yes I know, I know) and double check all settings are correct and then try again. If you don't know how to reset the PRAM please click iMac SMC and PRAM reset

However, I have finally done as you instructed but am still getting the same issue on the Macbook with an Icon of the CD and no contents despite clicking on the icon. Also I am getting a "Connect as....." under the iMac icon. Clicking on that does not do anything.
