Q: External sound device keeps on muting after 10.10.4 update
I have an external Lowe Speaker to Go connected via a cable to the Headphone outlet. I have checked this output is selected in System preferences. The Speaker mutes after a few seconds of playing normally. This did work for OSX 10.10.3 but as soon as I updated to 10.10.4 the problem occurred. Very disappointed in the Apple coders who have inflicted this on me !
