Q: /Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app does not appear to be a valid OS installer application when creating a bootable drive?
So, I'm trying to create a bootable drive from a Mac OS Extended (journaled) 16GB flash drive.
I enter this command in terminal:
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction
I get this response:
/Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app does not appear to be a valid OS installer application.
The drive is titled "Untitled".
And a valid copy of "Install OS X Yosemite.app" is in my applications folder.
I'm doing this from a macbook air running Yosemite 10.10.4
So what's the problem?

Well, whatever the reason was, I tried doing the same thing on my macbook pro (also running 10.10.4) and it worked great. No problems.
Thanks anyway!
