Aug 14, 2015 10:29 AM in response to BLVXby Ralph Landry1,There is nothing a user can to clean the mechanism. Best approach is the Apple Store Genius Bar to have the techs take care of it for you.

Aug 14, 2015 11:10 AM in response to BLVXby AppleFnatik,At the Apple store all they are going to do is blow compressed air on it from beneath the dock.
If you have some compressed air and know enough to keep the nozzle even and not tip the can upside down, you should be able to save a trip.
If for some reason you don't have any air, or that does not fix it..the Apple store may be your best bet.

Sep 26, 2016 1:28 PM in response to BLVXby adtse,You probably should take it to the Apple store and have the geniuses clean it out. Dust can make the button stuck. If it is stuck, sometimes if you use your fingernail to hit it a few times, it may get some dust out. Especially if you went to the beach, avoid getting sand or dust in the holes.
