Q: iMac 2011, please help : what if fsck crash?

Hi,

I have quite a problem with my iMac... it all started with a flickering and freezing screen while working or navigating on the Internet. So I tried Safe Boot, and it worked. From there I checked the hard drive, and it all went well. I restarted the imac, and the problem was still there so I opened the mac and cleaned up inside a bit, there was indeed some dust.

I restarted and then I could boot in normal mode, but i did not last long. Same problem, so I did an Internet Recovery, but no result... At this time I really thought it was the GPU. But I could not start OSX anymore (in normal or safe mode) it stayed on white screen. I reset a NVRAM, no restult.

I wanted to make sure that it was not a hard drive problem. The last thing I tried was fsck in Single Mode User, just to see... and the imac shut down right after displaying the name of the hard drive (I tried three times)...

Any leads for a better diagnosis (except going to Apple)?

Thanks in advance.

PS: I have a mid-2011 27'', with 1To HD and a Radeon 6970M, OSX 10.9

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
