Have just manually deleted some Blackberry crud, trying to eliminate the last few hiccups, my hosts file is a list of spammers and adclick type crap.

    Any help for this?

It appears to be containing your iCloud-synched Accounts that you can edit in the System Preferences or in Mail.app.

It is accompanied by icbaccountsd.plist inside ~/Library/SyncedPreferences, with both containing matching data.

I had a problem where a long-deleted account caused to frequently pop up a "invalid certificate" warning about the old account's domain address. So, despite the fact that I told OSX to stop using that account, it still kept on checking that mail server's (now-invalid) credentials, apparently.

The deleted account was not listed in Mail nor the System Preferences Accounts any more, so I could not further delete it.

I had to open both said plist files in a plain text editor (e.g. BBEdit), find the offending entries and remove them from both files at the same time, then restart the Mac. (If you have trouble removing the particular entries, try instead to rename the offending domain names into something that doesn't exist.)
